Lisa: DS also has some hair on his scrotum. We have been through a whole range of tests because it can be a symptom of some endocrine conditions or early puberty (called precocious puberty) but thankfully (as is usually the case with most bubs) DS is within the range of normal.

It was scary at the time for us, DS had to have a number of BT's and examinations but he is fine. We are seeing a great Paed who is keeping an eye on DS's development during childhood to keep an eye out for other virilising (sp?) symptoms. Things to look out for include rapid growth (can get a bone scan), acne (not just the usual baby stuff), body odour, increased penile length (for boys obviously), darkening of the genitals etc.

It is worth checking, but as I said is generally nothing to be worried about. My paed said he has seen some little girls with lactating breasts and some boys with facial hair and their hormone levels have still been within the range of normal

Willow: I tried the gentle approach to unwrapping DS but he was just getting more and more frustrated so one morning sleeping when he was about 5 months, after re-wrapping the kid for about the 10th time I just took it off all together. Low and behold, IT WORKED. He still sleeps in a sleeping bag but that is more so because he travels around the cot and blankets don't stay on. What you are doing sounds like it is working so I say just go with your instinct.

Janie: Whoo Hoo for DS still being in his cot. How long did he last? Thanks for asking about Mel. She is hanging in there. She is fairly angry at the moment which is totally understandable. I''ll let her know you are thinking of her. She is a strong woman and if anyone can get through this, it is her and her DH.

Bek: It is funny you mention your marriage needing TLC. Last night out of the blue DH said that he wished he could support me like my BB friends. He said sometimes he wishes I wouldn't spend so much time on BB so I've decided to cut back when he is at home.

Sydney girls: Can I suggest a shopping centre for Tuesday. I'm going to need to get to the shops next week so morning tea in a cafe and a wander sounds good.
