Well, I went this past week to see my doc. He was completely supportive of me do a
vba3c, however due to the fact that the bubs are sharing the same placenta he is wanting to do a ceserian at 36 weeks. He is concerned about acute ttts that develops late in pregnancy. Acute ttts has a very high morbity rate. Basically if it happens there is not much they can really do. So I am now researching this condition. Thanks for everyones advice. I am carefully considering all the pros and cons and at this point I am leaning towards the elective ceserian. Atm, I am grieving the loss of my vbac and am looking for wisdom from parents of mono/di twins.
Firstly congrats on your pg and good on you for going for a vbac with twins! Not sure how relevent this is as I have had neither a vbac, cs or twins but my private OB did refuse to accept certain elements of my birth plan at our 34wk appoint. Basically said I won't agree to this, this amd this. We either find a compromise or find a different dr - not a good experience at 34wks pg. We did find a compromise on some issues others were his way or nothing and I have to sign each change for legal purposes. Having said all that I did have a great birth nearly ideal and was pleased he was my dr when we ran into some obstacles at the birth.
Also a friend of our had twins and found it impossible to find a dr that would vaginally birth twins (this was in a rural area however) She did find quite a few case studies where it had been a great success bt couldn't find a dr willing to do so :-(
