    Hi!

Can't wait for some of you guys to make your way in here!

Ethans going well - had the midwives visit today and they were happy with how we are both going - they went to do the heel ***** test etc and then realised he's not even 48h old yet!! So they're coming back tomorrow to do that and weigh him...

He's not feeding that much - I'm having to wake him which is really strange as the other boys fed every 1 1/2-2 hours before my milk came in! He was up last night with wind and a tummy ache so not sure what will happen tonight!

Have had heaps of visitors the last couple of days so am looking forward to a quieter day tomorrow...I haven't had any naps today so am starting to feel really tired...Hope to get the boys off to bed early so I can have a sleep as well!

Krisvee - I am lurking around don't worry. Logan is 1 week old today, I can't believe how fast it has gone. I stayed in hospital for a few days as i needed time to rest up after the exhausting marathon event of his birth. When they did the heel *****, they took 3 tries to get enough blood. The midwife thinks that she just was being too gentle and not squeezing hard enough. He didn't mind too much though.

Most of my visitors came whilst we were in hospital, and we have basically had no-one come over until today. It was really good and gave us all some rest time.

I just can't imagine how tiring it would be having a newborn as well as two others... i imagine it would be your rest time that was most effected. I hope you have an easier night tonight xx

    Hi!

Kylie - Great idea to stay in hospital and rest!! Good for you! Poor bubba having 3 goes at getting his blood...awwww. Thats nice that you've had some peace and quiet at home...

We'll see how he goes tonight...he's been a bit unhappy this evening but is down for a sleep now..I always find these early days hard as I don't know if it's wind or if he's still hungry...my milks not in yet so waiting for that as well...

    Hi ladies,

    I am here as well!

Kylie - I hear you on the heel ***** taking more than one go, and my girls had to have bloods taken daily for 3 days to check on their jaundice levels. I think they both ended up with at least 5 heel ***** holes on each foot. They coped really well with it though, better than I did anyway!

Kristee - Hope your milk comes in soon and that Ethan starts to feed more frequently and without being woken.

I have one great feeder and one lazy feeder, which is making it a little tricky to feed them both at the same time, so I haven't been twin feeding yet. I ordered a twin feeding pillow yesterday, so when that arrives I will give it a go. Amber (who is the good feeder) has put on weight since we left hospital and was almost back to birth weight when weighed last on the 5th of Nov. Kaylee initially lost weight, but when weighed 2 days later had gained. As she is not a great feeder, I am really hoping that she has gained again when we get her weighed on Wednesday. I have plenty of milk, she is just too lazy to suck for very long.
Both girls were very unsettled yesterday, so I'm hoping today is a little better.

    Morning...

Well, Ethan was in bed with me all night...waking roughly every 2 hours for a feed...I just put him on and went back to sleep though - LOL! He's finally back in his bed this morning though...I feel like my milk is definitely on it's way in though!!

Shell - You are amazing feeding your 2 girls - I can't imagine what a huge job it is to have twins!! It's always a great feeling to see them gaining weight!! Hope it continues!

I really need to upload some photos and change my ticker...

Oh, and I'm so over these afterpains - I never had them this bad with Louis and Dylan...Hopefully in another day or so they should be gone I suppose...

Hi, I thought I'd join in with our November baby.

I was completely convinced that our baby girl was going to arrive before her 31 Oct due date that I didn't explore any of the other belly buddy groups so I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone in here. Of course some of you girls have come over with me from October...

Jeff and I live in Canberra and work in IT (although we're both technically unemployed at the moment...taking a couple of months off to get to know our little girl).

Katherine Grace is a our first child. She made a relatively quick entry into the world on 1 Nov (only 5 hours of labour). She feeds a lot and sleeps a lot and makes us smile all day. So far our biggest problem has been deciding on how we want to spell her name (we started out with Kathryn) so we consider ourselves pretty blessed...touch wood.

Anyway, I look forward to sharing this adventure with you all.

    Hi!

Anjanette - Congrats on your baby girl! How great that you've both got a couple of months to spend together! Wow! Glad that everythings going well and she's settled in with you both so well!

We're going well...Ethan is my most placid child so far thats for sure! My 2 older boys are at times being more work than him at the moment! I'm so glad dh is home for a couple of weeks...then he'll be at work for another few and then xmas holidays!
He's still sleeping with me at night as I'm often too tired to get him settled in his bassinette, although he sleeps in it mostly for the day...
We did the food shopping today and he slept the whole time in the sling which was great! I never used one for the other boys...
I'm so tired though..think I've done too much today...my bodies aching...

It's very quiet in here - anyone would think your all busy with newborns - LOL! Chat later!

Baby slings, what a godsend. Katie absolutely loves being in hers, she just drops right off to sleep.

She had her first really restless night in a week last night (we are so lucky!), so we're all a bit exhausted today.

    Hi all, im finally here.
Charli Isabelle Maddison Timms arrived at 1.14am Tuesday 11th Nov.
Weighed 8 pound 12.5oz or 3980g (exact same as Alyssa) delivered by the same midwife as Alyssa also. 53cm long, 34cm head circ.
All natural labour, no drugs, 5hrs and 18 minutes long. No stitches for me just a graze and we got to come home Tuesday lunchtime which was a big relief.
Milk has just come in today and bubs is doing really really well, feeding very frequently and sleeping really well in her own bassinette.
The nurse came today for a checkup, she has lost 270g since birth which isnt too bad, she has beautiful soft smooth baby skin and looks like her daddy.

Hope everyone else is well, i have posted a couple of pics in the gallery, hopefully will get a chance to get some more up soon.

    Hi!

Well, Ethan slept the whole night in his bassinette last night - with 4 feeds though, LOL! but happy that I got some restful sleep in amongst it as well...
Having a great relaxing day at home, had the housecleaner come in so my house is sparkling and now all 4 of my boys (including dh) are sound asleep - a miracle as my oldest hasn't had a day sleep in a looonnngg time but definitely needs it - he's asleep in our bed though so maybe thats what we need to do from now on if I really need him to sleep.
    Ethans sleeping again all day...LOL!

How much awake time are your kids having? I just don't remember the boys sleeping so much! Ethans lucky to be awake for 30-45min including feed time and he's back asleep...I guess he needs it though!

Kirra - Yeah! I love your ticker photo - just gorgeous! So glad to hear your doing so well! Thats fantastic!

Anjanette - Hope you manage a snooze this arvo!

Thats so cute Krisvee, good to hear he's sleeping well.
Charli sleeps whenever she isnt feeding, she slept from 7pm til almost 5am Tuesday Night/Wed Morn, tried waking her up to feed her but she didnt want anything, just a sleep, i was getting a lil worried she might dehydrate so instead of catching up on sleep while she did i only had a couple of hours cause i was worrying. Midwife said today it was normal but that didnt help me the other night. lol

At the moment she feeds for 10-20 minutes and sleep for 30-60 and then feeds again.

    Hi girls !
    congratulations on your babs!!

Josef Thomas arrived Wednesday 5th Nov 5.20pm, we've been home since Monday.

Unfortunately my husband had to return to his fly in/fly out job earlier than we'd hoped due to lack of cover arranged by his work, so last night was the first night without him home.. but I decided i wasn't ready to be alone and stayed at my parents who live only about 6 houses down the road. I HAD intended to stay on my own in my own place tonight but now I feel like I'm wanting company so decided I'm going to walk over to mum's again after Josef wakes up. At least I can have a leisurely shower at mum's and know someone's there if needed! Last night was great because I got a bit more sleep than our horror Monday night (Josef, hubbie and I didn't sleep at all as JOsef was so unsettled with tummy pains/wind) and mum took him when he was unsettled after his 3am feed, so I could go back to bed, and he slept until I woke him at 8.30 ! why couldn't he have done that earlier in the evening hehe. Tho it's not good for him to sleep so long I guess as he needs to gain more weight - he lost 400grams while in hospital and only gained 75g of it before we were discharged. I have a feeling though he's catching up as he is feeding much better in the last few days. I was getting concerned becuase he was acting as if he was having tummy pains and was farting like a trooper, really often and loud/smelly. His last pooey nappy was saturday night and then we had nothing for days, but then last night he did 3 pooey nappies in 3 hours!! his tummy seems better now.

I'm going to get a followup appt with a lactation nurse to make sure I'm doing things right, feeding is a bit painful and i'm losing some skin off the nipples. But at least I know I'm producing enough because last night I tried out my expressing machine and got 90mls which I fed to Josef in a little medicine cup to give my boobies a rest !

My sister arrives from Melbourne tomorrow night and staying with me for two nights, so I should be in a better frame of mind to manage by my own by Monday hopefully.. then it's only two more sleeps til hubbie comes home!

I had my very first communal breastfeeding session today when two girlfriends visited with their 3 month olds! it wasn't as difficult/embarrassing as I thought it might be! Josef still need encouragement tho so it's not just a matter of slipping a nipple in subtly ! - so I'm not ready for cafe feeding just yet ! ;-)

Hope everyone is managing well and well done you more-than-one-bub super mummies!!!!

Deni- i feel for ya, Charli has graized both my nipples so i made DP go up and get me some cream, they are very sensitive and sore but i refuse to give up i toughed it out with alyssa and i'll do it again. Sometimes she's so frustrated and hungry she sucks really hard and gives me this look as if to say thats what you get for making me wait. lol. If i feed her before she starts crying though she's nice to me.

My milk is officially in and in full swing, poor Charli didnt realise and ended up throwing it all back up, she aimed right for between my boobs too. lol. Now she's fed, bathed and sleeping peacefully which i should prob be doing too, right after my shower.

    Hi!

My little bubba is 1 week old already! I can't believe it!
He's a little unsettled this morning but I did have pizza for dinner last night - I ordered without onion but I think there was still garlic on it!
He had his first explosive poo last night that splattered all over his nappy bag and down the nappy change thing onto the carpet- so gross! LOL!
Dh has taken the 2 big boys out for a visit to his brothers today so the house is peaceful and quiet for now...wow...I suppose I better get some tidying done! My brother and SIL are coming around for a visit this arvo so that will be nice...
I managed a bit of a sleep in today so I'm not feeling too tired...managed a 2 1/2 hour block and then a 3h block then another 2h block of sleep so not too bad...

Sharon - Big hugs on your dh already been off to work...that must be hard on you in these early days! Thats great you've got your mum so close by to help! My dh is off for a work thing in Dec for 2 nights so I've already lined a girlfriend up for 1 night to stay with me! I'll definitely need the help with the 3 boys! LOL!
Good for you getting a follow up with a lactation consultant...you can expect them to be a bit sore to begin with but as long as it's not painful the whole feed your probably doing everything right! I great cream I use is Lansinoh...safe for bubs and helps your nipples recover...

Kirra - Ooh yeah - it's that initial latch on for me too when he's really hungry that hurts a bit...Aww poor bubs throwing up your milk...my first 2 could never handly my letdown and either spat it out or in Dylans case threw it up all the time but Ethan seems to be coping a lot better...I don't know if it's him or me thats different - LOL! It's certainly nice when our boobs settle down though thats for sure...Mine feel like they're already starting to a little...

A week old already,it has gone quick Krisvee. I can't believe its already been 3days since Charli was born.

She is such an angel of a baby, now my milk is in she's feeding every 2-3 hours and sleeping inbetween which is great. Last night she had a feed just after 11pm and then slept til 2.30, fed and slept til 5.30, fed and slept again til 8.30. My lil princess is doing so well, im so proud of her. It must have just been the initial feed of milk cause she hasnt thrown anything else up, just the occasional dribble.

Deni- Sorry to hear your DH has had to go back to work, lucky your mum is just down the road, it is so good and such a relief to have the extra support and help, luckily my DP has got 2weeks off, gives us both a chance to get to bond with her and spend some quality time each with lys.

My lunch is almost ready and then we are expecting some visitors so im off, enjoy the rest of your day ladies. hopefully the other girls will join us soon.
