    Party Plan - chocolate

    Hi,
Not sure if I am allowed to mention names so I apologise in advance if I am not.
I was wondering if anyone here is a chocoholics anonymous consultant or has attended a party. What are your thoughts.

i've not been to a party, but have ordered stuff through work

the main thing to be aware is that it's pay on the night - so you can't order and pay later. food isn't bad, but a bit on the exxy side. i "think" they have samples, but seeing i have never actually made it to a party, i'm not sure!

Salad I have been to only one and while their product was ok, and there were lots of samples, I found it a bit exxy and some of their stuff wasn't as good eg their clinkers. I also like really nice chocolate and was a bit disappointed by their quality. When I was looking for something to do they were one I weighed up and at the time we couldn't afford the outlay to get started. It however has good commissions and they are Australian and I think they could be fun! Have you been to a party yourself?

All I can say is... CHOCOLATE COATED CHICO'S!!!!!!

I'm being a good girl... no chocolate for me! Sounds like a good idea though, just make sure your area isn't overwhelmed with demonstrators and you should be in with a winner!

I agree w cai and reading their site they actually screen to ensure not too many demonstrators in one area. You can pay only half of your kit up front and pay it off over a few weeks which is a great option.

Heck if you are interested talk to someone get lots of info go to a party and if you love it go for it!!

    Good luck!

Can I be a sucko and point out that many people are 'tightening their belts' and this may be a bit luxurious for the market?

Also, if you go ahead, don't start now, everyone has their calendars full - Feb would be a better time.

ahhh miss lulu I have to disagree, forbes released a thing (or was it time... was something) to say that when money is tight chocolate is the thing people splurge on that and lollies and also lipstick apparently! So its probably the best climate to be doing it. They might not want to fork over $40 for a tupperware can opener but $6.50 for some chocolate coated lollies that they will do

wow thanks people I didnt expect so many replies thanks for the valuable information. I have never attended a party myself. I am due to have my first baby on the 31st of December so I am not in a hurry to get started but was just researching for down the track when things settle down a bit. I know there is only one other consultant in my area so I guess I will see how I feel later on.
Thanks for the replies once again. Still would love to hear more opinions.

Definitely sounds like a good gap in the market! I've never been to a chocolate party.

Like any party plan thing - if the product is good, it will work. Don't jump in without tasting things, you want to have the confidence to know that you are selling something really good.

All the best with it, and with the birth of your baby!
