Default Signature & Ticker guidelines

Dear members,

We'd just like to point out our guidelines on signatures for use in the forums, to clarify what is and what isn't acceptable.

This is to ensure that the forums appear tidy and somewhat professional at all times, rather than overdone or messy with cartoons and images, which also slows the loading time for pages for our members, particularly those with slower internet.

Tickers

- You are allowed only 1 ticker. You will be asked to remove extra tickers.
- Your ticker may represent any event in your life. Examples include pregnancy, baby birthday, conception, weight loss, or countdown to an event such as a wedding, christening or Christmas.
- Your ticker may contain an image, provided that the image is part of the ticker, and not separate to the ticker.
On this point, our forum supports a large number of members who have sadly lost babies. We are happy for your to include a link to your passed babies website - however due to the level of confrontation in seeing images of passed babies we ask that images of your angel be kept from your ticker as it may be upsetting for some members.
- Tickers must not be higher than 120 pixels high or 550 pixels in length. You can usually find out the ticker size by right clicking the ticker and looking in 'properties'.

Does your ticker link to another site?
Many tickers link to other ticker sites, some commercial. Given that we cannot constantly monitor the content on these sites, we ask that you remove the link in the BB code the site gives you.
You can tell if a link is embedded in your ticker by clicking on the ticker, or if you hover your cursor over it, the icon may change to the 'action' icon.
You can remove the link by removing all text which is not between the [IMG] and [/IMG] tags. The text to be removed will start with and there will be a tag at the end.
For example: When you look at the code for your ticker you will see something like the text below (without the spaces):

[ur l=ht tp:/ /newborn-baby-gifts. com] [img]http:/ /babyage.t ickershack. com/tickers/m r8r97skck c1ka1h.png[/img][/url]

You need to remove everything that is outside of the [img] section - so in the above example, the [ur l=ht tp:/ /newborn-baby-gifts. com] and the [/url] have to be removed.

Text in Signatures

- With a ticker, you are allowed a maximum of 4 lines of text and 2 spacer lines.
- Without a ticker, you are allowed a maximum of 6 lines of text and 2 spacer lines.
- Members are allowed one extra line of text to advertise a BellyBelly meetup (this can include a link to a thread about the event).
- Market Place Members are allowed one extra line of text, and have a character limit.

- Text size must be no larger than size #4.
- You are allowed BellyBelly emoticons in your signature.

Links in Signatures

- You are not allowed commercial links in your signature. This privilege is reserved for Market Place Members only.
- You may have other links in accordance with the BellyBelly guidelines such as personal blogs, photo websites, or fertility charts.

- Please have signatures aligned to the left, with your signature on a separate line to any text.

- Please read the local forum guidelines, particularly in sections pertaining to trying to conceive children, or children who have passed away - many of these forums require certain signatures (eg. those including pregnancy or baby tickers) to be turned off. You can turn your signature off in Quick Reply by unchecking a box to the bottom right, or in advanced reply there is an option underneath the text box.

Thankyou for your understanding and if you have any questions about your signature, please let the moderating team know.

Default Local Forum Guidelines

The Moderation team here at Belly Belly have compiled some signature guidelines for use in the Miscarriage and Loss and Long Term Trying To Conceive Forums. These guidelines are in an effort to be as sensitive as possible to those in these forums.
These guidelines are in effect immediately and are for all threads in the said forums with the exception of the Pregnancy and Parenting threads of these forums.

In the Miscarriage & Loss threads links to your child(ren) website that fall within our guidelines listed HERE are permitted.
* In the LT TTC forums links to your child(ren)'s website are not permitted.
* The following tickers are allowed - TTC Tickers without photos of babies, weight loss, christmas countdown tickers are the only tickers admissable in the said forums - with the exception being the parenting and pregnancy threads of the above forums.

If you have another ticker or a signature that does not comply with the above guidelines you will be required to turn it off prior to posting.

To disable your signature simply untick the box "show your signature" - you will find this if you scroll down below the text box you post in.

For members who find all signatures/avatars confronting you can disable them across the board via the User profile page and under Edit Options you can tick if you want to see avatars/images/signatures etc.

We understand this can be difficult to remember at times but we ask that you get in the habit of doing this so we can be sensitive to posters in these forums. If you do not remove your ticker it will be edited out. Repeatedly dismissing these guidelines will incur an infraction. For more on infractions see HERE .

Most "older" members are aware that we have had similar policies for a long time now on Belly Belly - however with many new members we feel it's important to set guidelines.

Please be mindful of this when replying to all posts in the Miscarriage & Loss & in the Long Term Trying to Conceive forums.

As with all decisions made by the Administration and Moderating team - this is a united decision. We ask that members gracefully accept this as a rule of our community. Debating with regard to this on the boards will be infracted & posts removed - we ask that members step outside their circle and accept that many find pregnancy and baby tickers upsetting after loss. Those that disagree are by far in the minority.

Thankyou for your consideration & understanding.
The Belly Belly Moderation Team.
