Default Hiring/Borrowing a Birth Pool

Hello

I am in my 34th week of my first pregnancy. After our Obs relationship has been steadily becoming more unsupportive and negative towards our wishes of a birth with as little intervention as possible have decided to have a homebirth.

This involved a lot of rearranging that was obviously meant to happen as it all came together within 24 hours........except the birth pool. As we are so late in arranging a homebirth we are having trouble finding a company that still has a pool available.

I am wondering if anyone knows of any companies in Melbourne that hire pools or if someone has one that we can borrow or buy.

Appreciate your help/suggestions.

Independent midwives usually hire them out, check out the link to MIPPS at www.maternitycoalition.org.au. Try Andrea Bilcliff, I know she has them. Also you could try purchasing a wading pool or one of the La Bassine pools, they are about $190 and you can reuse them later for a wading pool, ball pit - they are very comfy and nice Check out Welcome to Made in Water ? - Natural birth and organic shop for some piccies. Let me know if you are interested, we are stocking them in the coming weeks.

Thanks Kelly for the quick response.

I've popped off any email to Andrea. If possible I would prefer to hire than buy but that may not be an option. If I can't find one to hire this week then I will contact you re the La Bassine pool.
