Default Bad SCSA result - help please

Hi,

Was wondering if anyone had some experience with a bad SCSA results (bad DNA damage in Sperm), my DP had 31 in his first test and 28 in his second (using frequent ejaculation). He is now on Menevit and extra Vitamin C and Folate. We are about to sart IVF/PGD because of a genetic condition.

Some sites say that with a result of 30 you're basically infertile but my FS said that this isn't correct and that we can use PICSI to hand-pick sperm used by ICSI.

Wonder if anyone actually knows of someone who got pregnant despite a bad SCSA result?

Red lady, as you know from the other thread that my DH's result just came back as 30 as well. I don't think I can offer you more than you already know but will be holding special interest to this thread. I hope there are some successful stories to cheer us up.

Hi Cuddlepie, yes we're definitely in the same boat in this.

My FS said she had a patient with a 40 or 50 result who got pregnant using PICSI. But would feel better if anyone woudl have a first-hand experience in this.

Maybe consider seeing if you can find some 'French marine bark' - I know of a couple that had a very poor SCSA result and were taking some of the stuff your talking about he also changed his diet and was taking french marine bark

French Marine Pine Bark Extract - Herbs & Supplements - Drug Library - DrugDigest
