Default 3 Blighted ovums

Hi every-one

I'm looking for advice from some-one who may have had similiar experiences.

After 6 months of TTC we achieved pregnancy. This turned out to be a blighted ovum.

13 months later I fell pregnant again with a twin pregnancy, both blighted ovums.

With both pregnancies the sacs developed late into the first trimester.

Has any-one experienced this and gone on to have successful births? xx

hi Shell, and welcome to bellybelly! i can't help with the being preggers part, but i just wanted to drop in and say hello. i had a m/c in feb at 9.5 weeks of an underdeveloped baby, and the next two have been blighted ovums that m/c early. silly me thought that healthy pregnancies in my 20's would equate to healthy pregnancies in my 40's....i got a rude shock, i have to say! but there is hope, especially if you are younger (i'm 43) sometimes it's a matter of getting as healthy as possible and truly just keeping on trying. best wishes for you getting your bub, and i for one have found a great deal of support and information on here

Thank-you Ellie!

Congratulations. It must have felt amazing to see your little baby moving around on the scan when you thought you might never experience it.

It already makes me feel better to know that people do have multiple losses and still achieve a normal pregnancy. I know the doctors tell you that you will, but it kind of falls on deaf ears.

If you don't mind me asking did you ever have an explanation for your losses? I believe it's common to have no explanation at all.

Best of luck and good health for you both for the next 6 months!xx

Hi Dragonfly

Thank-you very much for the welcome. It feels really nice to have people to chat to as everyone I know seems to have no bother getting pregnant and staying pregnant.

It reassures me in your case that m/c can just happen when there is no serious underlying problem (as you have had healthy pregnancies in the past).

I am 30 but have still yet to be blessed with any children.

It must be very hard to have had losses so close together, I admire you for not giving up! I will follow your posts for the good news I am sure is just around the corner.xx

HI Shell
We had every test possible for recurrent miscarriage and no answers...I truely believe I am gluten intolerant but the test says I'm not...I decided to go gluten free anyway...can't hurt right...went to accupuncture twice and threw up all the way home on both occaisons so never went back and then ended up at a Chiropractor for my bad back and here we are! This small part of the story all happened after I 'spat the dummy' and totally gave up ...said goodbye to the nurses at our fertility clinic and told them I didn't think I'd ever be back...hehehe....6 months later I'm phoning them to say I'm pregnant...now what? They are calling this my 'Alcohol cycle' as I had been having a pretty good time! Hang in there...you just never know what's around the corner...and as much as I love the Dr's and nurses that have taken such wonderful care of me...they don't know it all...oh...I forgot to add...I also only have one tube as I lost one as a result of a ruptured ectopic...anything is possible!

It's hard to know if it is better for a problem to be found or not. I bet you racked your brains for possible answers! My drs have agreed to start testing so I shall wait and see what they come up with.

It seems that patience is the key. I won't give up, or maybe I should, It seemed to work for you!

Thank-you for sharing your story with me Ellie. It's exactly what I needed to hear.xx
