Sometimes I hate my job. Lady tonight 12w pregnant, went for her booked scan (even though she had some bleeding today) to find her little one without a HB and measuring 7w3d It is so hard to not cry with them sometimes - especially at the moment. I know I can be a help and empathetic but it is such a reminder of how precarious things are. Anyway, I sent her home (she will come back for *management* on Monday) to drink a bottle or 3 of red wine. I feel like joining her
Anyway - need to snap out of that one.
On a brighter note ....... my little man is just getting more and more gorgeous by the day. And I know I am biased He is such a clever little bunny and it is amazing to watch how much they learn at the moment. New skills, new words (or sounds) and even cuddles!! I just wish he would sleep beyond 5.30am Weird child that he is - he hates bananas as a fruit (in stuff is fine) but lurves mandarins. Go figure. I know which one is less messy too!!
Anyway - should head to bed. Big day tomorrow with the SIL baby shower and I am yet to wrap the gift. I've made 2m x 1.5m muslin wraps that I am going to use to wrap the other gifts. It would help if I had time to finish the knitted cardi I have going but she can get that when the baby is born. And it gives me a few extra weeks too to get it ready.
Nighty nighty. Chat to you all tomorrow
And Willow - Happy Birthday!!!!

Oh Michelle how awful, but you are a fabulous and caring person so she couldnt have had anyone better to help her through those first few awful moments. I know what you mean about it being hard because youve been through it too. I am not a huge fan of u/s now because I get scared that it will be bad news every time.
Speaking of bad news. Did another HPT with FMU this morning and its still up in the air. There is a faint faint FAINT line on the First Response one and a seeable faint line on a Lullaby HPT.
I dont know what to think, I figured I would have been atleast 12dpo by now so would get a decent faint line or something. I even took the clomid this cycle I bloody hate this, why oh why cant TTC be simple for me instead of worry-stress-worry-stress.
Sorry to be such a downer.

Anna, hang in there until you're at least 14 DPO. And you know, I always found that Discover (the test after 5 days one) gave me the best lines! Others have said that to me too. I know you'll keep testing each day, but try not to do your head in about it for a few more days yet. I'm sure by then the lines will be getting darker

Michelle: Boy that would have been a really upsetting situation. My heart breaks for that poor lady and for your having to be so strong. As the other ladies have said, you being there, understanding her pain will be something she will never forget. You should be proud of yourself for having so much to give despite all that you have lost.
Mako: Thanks for the info on Willow, you are right, I do remember her mentioning that it was her B'day. Willow. Sorry to hear Sage isn't well, it is so hard when they are sick isn't it. Oliver is off colour at the moment also.
Anna: Testing and waiting It is enough to drive you bonkers isn't it The fact that there is still a line is an excellent sign. Is it worth going to your GP tomorrow morning for a BT to see what your levels are? Or even try a different test as Janie suggested.
Well last night, what can I say, between 1 am and 6 am Oliver would only sleep for 20 mins in my arms. His breathing was really stuffy and I had a look and he has a runny blocked nose. He has started sneezing and a little cough has appeared. I have that fess stuff but trying to use it on him is just not worth the struggle. I was going to go out and get some Baby Vicks, any other suggestions. I'm hoping the fact that his is BF will mean that it doesn't get much worse or stick around too long. And I was going to visit Lynn today but now I can't because I don't want her to catch it.

Try one of those plug in vapourisers you can buy from Coles, they fit into the power points and work just like a normal vapouriser but without the danger of spilling water/burns.

Thanks Anna, I didn't even know they existed. I'm going to head out after lunch and pick one up.

Your welcome, I didnt know they did either til a friend told me (because she knows my boys have lung issues and I use my vapouriser alot during winter). Its handy for me to use with my toddler because he would tip over the normal vapouriser before I could even close the door lol

Well by this afternoon Oliver's nose was running like a drip and his eyes were watering. Poor bugger, everytime he sneezed I was sprayed with snot. I went to the Chemist and got a Vaporizer that you put vicks drops in and some more baby panadol. He is just miserable, even BF is an issue and he keeps pulling on and off because he can't breath very well through his snotty nose and suck. Poor little pumpkin, I really hope we all get some sleep tonight. Waking every 20 mins is enough to send us all loopy and to top it off my nose is now running.. Grrr, I hate being sick.
Boo double hoo
Spring (sniffle sniffle)

Oh you poor things Spring We're into day FIVE of DS being sick, and he seems to be getting worse rather than better If he's not improved by morning we're off to the Dr. It is his first illness so I guess I shouldn't complain, but I feel sorry for the poor wee man. The first night was TERRIBLE, but today hasn't been alot better, he's hardly slept at all. And he's so off his food. Oh, and to top things off, the pharmacy I went to last week gave me Demazin for him, knowing full well that he is 12 months. I went to another pharmacy today and they told me it's not recommended for kids under 2 years!!!! So I've called the first pharmacy to let them know they're not up to date with their info, and stopped giving it to him, obviously. I'm glad I used it sparingly.
I really hope Ollie gets over his cold quickly, and that you don't get too sick! The vapouriser should really help, I love them Even if he's struggling with BF, offer it often, it will help him to feel better, and be nice if he has a sore throat. Good luck tonight!

Day 5!! Oh I sending sympathy to you and DS. Well DS just woke up after only 30 mins (usually he goes 4 hours) but luckily it coincided with DH getting home so he managed some smiles for Dadda. He is just sneezing so much which makes me feel so sorry for him. He is so tired that he is rubbing his eyes and then his nose so I'd put money on the fact that he is going to awaken with a case of conjunctivitis also. Oh well, it is all adding to his imune system, isn't that what they say
Oh and I can't believe the chemist gave you medicine for 2+ That is shocking, I'd be asking for an apology and my money back. I'm glad that DS didn't have any adverse side effects.
Well here's to a better night for all of our families.

Hi ladies,
Janie - oh hun, did you take DS to drs? Poor little man, I really hope he does get better soon.
Spring - the vapourisers are great, I use them at the first sign of a sniffle with DD. There is also a Brauer's for cold/flu relief. I use Brauer's alot, can you tell? I just find it better than loading her up with paracetemol all the time. How is Ollie going today? DD had conjunctivitis a couple of months ago but at the first sign I was wiping her eyes with cooled cammomile tea, and it never really set it proeprtly. Her eye was a bit weepy and formed a slight yellow goo, but with persistent cammomile washes throughout the day, by about day 3 it was almost gone. Fingers crossed he doesnt get it though..
Michelle - oh hun, like Janie said, im sure the poor dear will remember you kindness and warmth for the rest of her days. And you missy, keep getting tired and hope you get worse nausea (I mean that in the best possible way of course!). Im sure your little Edna will be snug as a bug in a rug with her little heart ticking away (oooh her I said! wonder if thats a sign..heheheheee).
Jayne - Oh - i really thought it was Fri when I posted, seriously Im suprised i even know my name half the time! Alan..where is Alan?????? Did I miss something of importance??? As for the road trip, I plan to leave in the wee hours of the morning so by the time little Miss wakes up for brekky, we are in Albury and can spend the good part of the day there and then head off for the next round when she is about to take her arvo nap. Im hoping its going to work, otherwise we will have to overnight it somewhere to make sure she is comfortable for the next leg.
Anna sweety fingers crossed the line gets a bit darker for you hun, and remember that just becuase you think you are 12dpo or more, doesnt neccessarily mean that you are, so keep testing and im sure that line will be nice and dark for you.
Bek - how is all your christening planning coming along?? I think that if you feel you need one more set of tiny toes, then go for it, your heart is obviously telling you something...
Willow - hope all your party plans went well sweets
Big hugs and hello's to everyone else, gotta go DD up now, oh and BTW Her two top teeth cut through over the weekend!!

Just a quick one - it is the witching hour here and the little person is in the bath with Daddy supervising. Soon (I hope) to go to sleep I can live in hope!!
Anyway - Edna has a hearbeat 114bpm (normal for the gestational age) and measuring 6w2d (2d less than my dates but still ok) so I am slightly relieved and past the first hurdle. Now to start taking the aspirin and make the appointment for the specialist I had for Caitlyn and Oscar - just at a different hospital. I have a back up booking at the closer hospital JIC but the OB (if I go private) is on leave from 22/12 to 10/1 which is right when I am due so I need to suss out the position of him and his locum as to whether they are pro-intervention, in which case I will definitely be going public (or private with the OB I have seen before) at the different hospital so I can try for a VBAC. Just my previous stillbirth and GD to factor in.
And so we go again ....................

What wonderful news Michelle that is one hurdle down. I am happy for you.
Jo: So glad the card arrived. I meant what a wrote in it, any time day or night I am here.
Lisa: Thanks for the tip on the conjunctivitis. Thankfully it hasn't appeared yet.
Well last night was a little better. Still very unsettled but the vaporiser seemed to really help him. He ended up in our bed but it was so cold here that I wanted to snuggle with him anyway. Today he seemed a little happier but still not 100% I just hope he continues to improve.
Well I am feel a bit sad at the moment. DH just told me he has to work from 10am to 8pm on Mother's Day. It seems like he misses so many important events because of his job, I was really looking forward to it and now I will be sitting at home feeling sorry for myself. Oh well, I know it could be much worse like last year which I spent in bed sobbing.
Lv Spring.

Michelle, that's ace news! So happy for you Good luck with the appointments, though I'm sure you'll keep us up to date. GO EDNA
Spring, big hugs hun, I'm sorry your DH will be working Mother's Day. If you were in Melbourne I tell you to come along to my mum's so you're not alone! I'll definitely be thinking of you on the day. I'm sure you will have lots of lovely cuddles with Ollie, though I guess it will be a sad for you in some respects. I'm glad that it will be better than last year I hope DH makes you an awesome brekky before going to work!
Willow, glad you're having such a fun week hun! Looking forward to having you around again though
Lisa, did I mention just how happy I am that you're back with us? I missed you hun.
How's Granny Jayne?
Hi to everyone else! Lynn, I hope you're feeling better soon.
My poor wee man has an ear infection and a very inflammed throat . He's now on ABs which I'm hoping will do the trick quickly! So we'll just keep up with the Panadol, and the vapouriser as well. I hope tonight is better than last night, for all of our sakes! Very tired ATM, so please forgive me for lack of personals.
Best be off to DO stuff while he's asleep, six days of a clingy, unhappy child has left my house looking like a tip! And I have six, yes SIX, loads of washing lined up to do, and about that many again to fold and iron! Me thinks I'm going to be busy for a few days.
Chat soon lovelies, Sez xoxo

Janie, hope the AB do the trick, and thanks your sooo sweet. I missed everyone too
spring - awww sweety, chin up - you have your beautiful boy to spend the whole day with and you'll have him all to yourself. You should plan something for the two of you, go out, have a picnic together, and then could you suprise DH at work for a coffee break??
Well I completley forgot it was M day and Ive organised for Miss A to have her first sleep over on Sat night as we have a function, and I was really looking forward to snuggling up with her in bed on Sun morning, oh well, I suppose its a nice M day pressie for my mum...
Gotta go, lots of work to do and going out to get my mum and MIL their pressies...
Take care,
LIsa
