Lynn - if you all (Tommysmum, Bailey and you) have S&K then come after for lunch!!! I only live down the hill from where it is anyway so it wouldn't be out of your way to pop in and catch up too

My gosh, you ladies need jobs! LOL. I have been away for 1.5 days & you're pages ahead of me! LOL.
WILLOW _ I have the same thing with Jess always wanting to come into our bed. It's worse when Alan is home because she is always coming to 'check' if Daddy is still there, as he disappears at night when he flies back. But anyway, I have told her that she is not allowed out of her bed until all the stars have gone from the sky & IT WORKS! Every morning she comes into me about 6 & goes back to sleep until 8ish & when I go & make her bed, she has opened the curtains a bit to see if the stars are gone. It's cute! However, because Pushover Dad is in town, she is sneaking in all stelth like & sliding into his side of the bed so I don't know that she's there!
MICHELLE _ You cow, thanks for my invite for lunch. I'll remember that! How is Oscar? Is he still living up to his grouchy name?
JANIE _ I hope you're feelign better sweets, as with the boy. It sucks when you are both sick. Don't feel bad about putting on the dvd! They are godsends. I swear that's what kept Jess going when I was pg & sick with M/S with Claudy! If you're after a really beautiful dvd, have a look on ebay for the Tiny Love Magic DVD's. They come with a little dog, sheep or lamb & they are interactive with the DVD. They are just fantastic, even Jessica watches Claudy's. Claudy sits on her lounge chair with it in her arms & sings along to the songs. We have the 3-12 month one & now I'm just trying to get her the 12-36 month one. I hear you with the croup thing, my gf's two little ones get croup & they get it BAD! The first sign of it & they are speeding through to the ED. They were stopped by the police one time & bub was on my gf's mothers LAP & the copper took 1 listen to her cough & said 'get to the ED NOW!'. It's terrifying, so I don't blame you!
LYNN _ How is your belly going hon? I hope all is good now!
MAKO _ How's things with you sweets?
ME _ Alan got home on Saturday arvo. Jess makes me cry when she sees her dad, it's so beautiful. This time was the first time she actually ran to him, usually she bursts into tears & hides behind me. Claudy goes all shy too. She won't let Alan so much as touch her, but she is feverish again & tugging at her ears so I hope we're not going the rollercoaster of ears again. Last year she had 7 ear infections in 5 months. The GP is wanting me to give her a flu vaccine this year, what is everybody elses opinions? Well I must go & get dinner cooking, I'm trying out some recipes from the new better homes & gardens magazine. WIsh me luck!
Love Jayne xox

WOW!!! Everybody is here! I didn't realise this thread existed until just now. I always felt a bit lost on BB after I was no longer a part of the PAML crew. I must now spend some time going back through the thread and finding out how everyone is doing.
My little man had silent reflux so our first months were quite horrendous-- he's now doing swimmingly. He's still on the boob, is already very mobile (standing unassisted and walking with his trolley) and is certainly very determined (I'm pretty sure he's already throwing tantrums). The time has flown by and I'm back to work part-time in a couple of months.
Anyway-- I'm off to have a read of what you've all been up to.
Hopexo

Hi Hope - don't think we have met before, I'm from the PASL. I hear you on the reflux issue - Ethan has reflux and we finally got it sorted when we started on AR formula. He still chucks a bit now so he always has a bib on. It was awful until we finally got the reason as to why he was screaming at every feed.
Michelle - Tommysmum has already organised for the other girls from S&K who have had babies to meet up at the Barn after for lunch. Sorry we will have to meet another time.
Jayne - my belly is much better now thank you. The 3 incisions under my ribs are fine but the bellybutton is still a little tender every now and then but the recovery hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. What does Alan do? He sounds like he is away alot? Do you find that hard or are you used to that? My dad was away alot when I was growing up and because my parents are English my mum didn't know anyone here so struggled on her own with twin babies and a 4 year old. I remember when dad would get home we would get so excited because he would always bring us a bag of presents! I guess it was his way of making up for being away.........we loved it!

Oh YAY Leah, so good to see you hun, and 'Pinchy' too! I was thinking of you the other day, some old thread of yours popped up, I think it was about maternity leave, ironically (given that you're going back to work soon). Wow, you've done sooooo well to keep him on the boob with all the problems you had. I remember how difficult it was for you.
Welcome to the world (or thread ) of full-on boys (dare I say naughty? ). You'll find a very sympathetic ear in here! And of course Jayne is still keeping us entertained with Miss Jessica stories LOL. And most of the old crew are around! I'm so happy to have this thread, I tell you. Although sometimes I wish it was private.
Better go and do some work. Ds is coughing away in his cot and it already has a tinge of croupiness to it, so the night is not looking good. If it's worse than last night we'll be going to hospital. So I'd better get some sleep while I can!
Michelle, thanks for the offer hun I think it's just a case of taking it as it comes, and trying not to be a panicky mum I hope you're recovering nicely from your horror stint at work. I was thinking of you over the weekend
Sweet dreams everyone xoxo

Michelle: If Lynn, Tommysmum, and Bailey have made other plans then please don't feel the need to keep Oscar's party on the 11th. Are the other options that suit you and most of the girls? I don't want you to have to keep it on the 11th for me, If you choose another date I'll try my darndest to get there. I can understand how important it is for you and Oscar to have everyone there.
Jayne: I'm not sure about the flu vacination (I guess Michelle might know more about it) I've never had it myself but I've also never had the flu ( ). Is it usual to give it to kiddies?
Janie: Oh boy I hope last night didn't end up with you at hospital. Sending you plenty of get better vibes.
Hope: Great to meet you. I have to say you have one cute little boy there. Glad to hear the reflux is sorted. Look forward to getting to know you some more.
Lynn: So glad to hear almost all the pain is gone.
Jo: you are never far from my thoughts

Spring - I am happy if it is just the three of us too. I can catch up with the others at the next meet up. I really is just a good excuse for a catch up and considering it is likely to be raining - a dry place too!!! Between you and Willow decide if you want to meet up then or when more of us can make the date. Alternatively - we could crash the S&K lunch after starting here
OMG - I think we are going to go mad today. DS is in SUCH a mood - into everything, saying *bugger* (thanks DH ) shaking his head *no* and generally driving me nuts. AND we can't go outside because it is too wet. I think we need a shopping centre to run around in!!
BBL - he is into stuff

No worries Michelle, I just felt bad that you had to fit your plans around me. I'll be there with bells on. I can't wait.
Don't they say the rain makes kids crazy? I think going to the shop is a fab idea. How about one of those play centres? You are welcome to bring him here if you want. I think the rain is lovely but it does make for a bored kid and apparently it is going to get worse over the next few days. I hope Deb is ok because apparently it was very heavy in the Sunshine Coast.
So what can I bring to your place next week? And any hints on what Oscar might want. I have something in mind but happy for any suggestions.

I have one word for you Michelle (well, two actually ).....play centre! Hopefully he'll run himself ragged Don't worry, my DS just smiles and says 'no' back to me when I say it. I'm thinking I'm going to have to remove it from my vocabulary .
No hospy here last night, thank goodness We were up for a couple of hours with a child who was happy enough, but couldn't sleep through his hacking cough. No croup though, so I was happy. Mind you, at what point do you take a kid to the Dr for a shocking cough? If it was me, I wouldn't be worried about it, but I'm not sure with a littlie. I'm so hopeless with this stuff, I guess that's called being a first time parent PMSL.

Oooooohhh Myyyyyyyy Faaaarrrreakin' Goodness!!
We had the WORST night EVER last night. It's all a bit of a blur but there was vomiting (have I mentioned I don't do vomiting? I NEVER vomit and neither did DD, apart from the newbie milk posseting), diarrhea, about a million wake ups, some panadol (which did nothing BTW) and at some stage I managed to step on a cockroach in the dark WITH BARE FEET!!! eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwww!
I have no idea what was wrong with the little man but it was something - I gave him a bit of stewed apple after his dinner last night. It was seriously the smallest amount. Do you think it could have been that? Or he has had carrots the last few nights for the first time, would it take a few days to have a reaction to that? He is thankfully sound asleep now so hoping he will be OK today/tonight.
Jayne - Babe, you've made me feel so much better telling me that Jess does it too! I tend to react really badly to sleeping issues (have you noticed? LOL!) and often the best way for me to feel better about it is for someone else to just say "yep, us too". She's been really good the last two nights, only waking at about 6-7am and wanting to come into my bed. But I'm OK with that cause.....she's toilet trained at night now! Clever chicken. Bit of a late bloomer in that department but hey, she did it in her own time without pressure from me and I'm so proud of her!! So she's waking earlier and asking to go to the toilet. I can live with that. I had both of them in bed with me after DH left for work this morning. It's one of the only times I've co-slept with L and I admit it - it was kinda lovely!
Spring/Michelle - I'm happy to come on the 11th, but it's easy for me cause I don't know the others! Except Lynn of course.
I know everyone says play centres are great in wet weather, but every mum on earth has the same thought so I actually tend to avoid them on rainy days! I've pulled the old blocks out and it's keeping her amused...for now!
Anyway, better get this day into some order by having a shower...I actually feel a bit hung over!
Hope - soooo glad you found us! I often think we should have PMd everyone from our old 'hood to let them know about this thread. Can't believe "Pinchy" is 10 months already!!

Willow - Your night sounds horrible but your retelling had me laughing out loud!!! Not sure what it could be but there is gastro going around too.
Spring - if it is just the three of us then I don't need you to bring anything. If you both eat home made lasagne then we are all good. As for gifts, you don't need to bring him anything but if you want to anything would be lovely
Janie - DS does the smile with the head shaking no thing too. It seems to be my favourite word at the moment too!! Not sure where the nearest play centre is actually but I can't wait until he walks and we can wear him out quicker!!
Anna - I hope the little ones get better soon.
Leah - welcome!!!! Good to see the old crew coming back. And pinchy is getting soooooo big!!!
Jayne - there was a general invitation Do you want to fly over for lunch??? Bring the girls too!! As for the flu vaccine, I'm not sure. I don't have them - my theory is that I get exposed to them every winter through work and probably have an immunity anyway. Oscar is getting his immunity from me.
Anyway, I now have a very busy boy who slept for nearly 2 hours this morning (and so did his mummy ) so we are off to the shops. BBL

Michelle - I love home made lasagne! So much more because every time I attempt it I manage to find new and interesting ways of stuffing it up, despite having a tried and tasted recipe (which is fab when other people make it!).
Hmmmmmm - what size clothes is Oscar in and how much does he weigh??
2 hour nap - wooooot!! Gotta love that. We're up to 2 hours and counting, not surprising given the "Night of the Cochroach" last night...
PS Please, please don't let it be gastro.
