Yeah, for me it's 9 months, probably because at that age, DD turned a corner and we never looked back, she was a fantastic sleeper. Stupid really, they are two very different kids but days like this, I wonder how much longer I can keep working at it. Never seem to get a good run for very long before some other issue presents itself - illness, teeth, un-wrapping!
He's been in a sleeping bag for ages, I was wrapping him over the top loosely with a really light muslin wrap, which is why I sort of hoped this wouldn't be a big deal...we just don't seem to catch a break with this sleep stuff though.

Willow just a thought... Would you consider giving DS the wrap to cuddle when he's in his cot going to sleep, like as in a security blanket as such? Not sure if you've tried this or not but just a thought.

Mako - posted at the same time. Move to SYDNEY!! LOL. Where are you thinking of moving to? Selfishly hope you don't! LOL.
Looking forward to getting out tomorrow and seeing you all.
Yup, tried giving it to him to snuggle. But it's a different wrap, much smaller cause his other one was pretty big, was worried about him getting tangled up in it, which is why I stopped wrapping him in the first place
Better go try and put him down again...he didn't end up sleeping at all this morning. He finally nodded off and then DD started yelling and woke him up

Well the boy is happy and playing. Still has a cough and runny nose but I can keep him away from Ollie and his water bottle Although he does like to give big, wet, sloppy kisses
Willow - I make a milestone, we get past it and we STILL don't sleep!!! I have given up on making a plan of when he will do it because it is too depressing. He is now 13 months and only since he has been sick have we been consistently getting 4 hours in a row once during the night. He goes down around 6-7pm but then wakes every hour or two in the cot until he goes to bed with us. Then it is about 4 hours, wake for a drink of water and back to sleep for another 2 or so hours. It isn't too bad now and I figure it keeps me in training for December As Janie and I have said before - we are doing the hard yards on this one and (hopefully) the next one will be a dream. Or we will be so used to it we won't know any better!!
So Mako - where are you going to?? You can fill us in on all the details tomorrow!!
Spring - there is quite a belly to rub too!! Last measure was about 4 weeks ahead of dates so I have well and truly popped out. One can only imagine where it will end.
BBL - got to rescue the DH from the boy so he can keep arranging our tax. We are off for a walk while the sun shines.

Well that's what I thought! DD wasn't born a sleeper either, but she eventually got there. It was still hard work initially though. I really, really wanted a sleeper this time and it didn't happen, which is something I struggle with a lot. I know he is pretty good, things could be a lot worse, but I just really, really want the day to come where it's not an issue at all iykwim? Oooh, can't wait to see this belly!!
Mako - move to the blue mountains!! I remember you saying before you'd consider it - although if I remember you have family there so that won't work if you're trying to get away from them LOL! But you'd be nice and close to me and we could lie on the floor and cry together!
Just spoke to Karitane (I've found their methods a bit gentler than Tresillian) who told me I'm doing everything right and they can't fault my methods....WHEN am I going to trust myself??
Michelle/Sez - are you guys still doing night feeds? If not, when did you stop? Once we get his days under control again, I'm thinking about trying to drop all night feeds except maybe one (he's doing two atm).

LOL Willow... DH would NEVER move to Sydney. He always makes me drive there.
I wouldn't mind moving to the Mountains but honnestly thats still too close to family. My brother is ok but my sis,sil and bil, they're another story(oh yeh you know about my sil lol) and its still close enough that my mum could come down there and as much as I love her she is a real PITA at times.
We are "talking"about moving to the wait for it.................................
The Northern Territory. Around Alice Springs or Darwin but we'll have to think some more about it and DH needs to fax his resume and we need to research some things like renting somewhere and renting our place out etc etc. Anyway I'll keep you all up to date on what happens. In saying all this it has to come off 1st. I am going to keep on at DH though.Oh so much to think about
Anyway I'm sooooo excited about tomorrow....BBL

Just wanted to say I am green with envy. I would so love to be meeting you all...
Im is okay - still a yucky chest but getting there.
Tommorrow I am addressing a forum of Iranian obstetricians on birthing from a woman's perspective. (what other perspective is there I ask you! ) My friend Kirsten asked me to do this a while back and the date just crept up on me. I have been a bit cerebrally challenged of late :P so let's see how we go! There will be the local guys too. I am so looking forward to meeting these women (all women obs over there.) Kirsten went to their hospy last year some of you may remember and now it's their turn to have a little looky at our digs. In their hospy women all birth in stirrups on their backs in cubicles the size of our exam cubicles just with curtains in between. There is a 65% c/section rate.
We are show casing my water birth photos - so they will get to know me inside out!
I have to go my loves - BB tomorrow afternoon.

well girls how thick am I? I didn't even notice this thread existed lol, its only taken about 6 months I think.
Anyway a few of you know me from the pregnancy after late loss thread.
Spring and Deb, great to see you girls are still around and your bubs are doing well. Does Lynn come in here as well? And Michelle, well congratulations on the baking of edna.
To be honest I haven't been on the boards much over the last few months, we have had major sleep battles with Samuel and trying to toilet train Shelby AAARRRGGGHHH. I did go back to work for about 4 weeks, but my little guy just couldn't cope without me, so I had to quit.
Samuel is now 10 and a half months and has been walking since the week after he turned 9 months old, seriously it shouldn't be allowed! Hasn't made him any happier though, now he just runs around after me with his arms up in the air wanting to be picked up, he is so adorable but boy does he get heavy.
Anyway I will "try" and keep up to date with everyone and pop in more often.
Take care everyone

Hi Clare, nice to see you
Deb, good luck tomorrow, and good on you! I'm sure you will speak in such a positive way that you will make a difference to how these female Obs view birth. And lets hope so, because lets face it, giving birth in Iran sounds like hell on earth! Those poor, poor women, I really feel for them . Can't wait to hear how it goes, make sure you pop in tomorrow and update us!
Hello everyone else, I'd better go and do some work Nighty night xoxo

Janie - what do you mean 'do some work' at 10.30pm, you should be in bed missy!!
Deb - hope your talk went well...glad I'm not Iranian...sheesh!
Girls thanks for a great day today. Sorry we had to make such an abruput departure, but turns out I timed it well, both kids had had enough by the time we got to the car. They both slept on the way home Good to see you again Spring before you left.
We should do it again soon, I'm happy to have you guys here or to go to Michelle's.

LISA!!!! Hello, Jayne is here!
I have been MIA, the kids have been sick, Claudy had her grommets put in, Alan has been home, I went back to W O R K ! HOw insane am I? Seriously insane! I know it. I did 2 weeks full time & it's just casual work. I can basically work as much or as little as I like, they are so stuck for staff that I am lucky I can pick my own hours. I'll probably end up working 1 day per week on a more regular basis. The money is just FAB & the adult time is just awesome! The kids have really loved it as well, which has been good.
How are you? How's Alexandra? Is she walking now? I'm sorry, I have missed so much, but I have been thinking of you!
Claudy went to hospital last Thursday to get her grommets & Jess woke up Friday morning with an ear infection! I seriously can't win! Claudy is going great since the surgery, but she had 2 ear infections on the day, so that takes her running total to 12! Jessica is going great, still the ever back chatting motor mouth, but that is just Jess!
Well, I will be the better BB friend from here on! I promise!
Love Jayne
PS _ I'm sorry to hear all these babies are STILL being bad little people when it comes to shutting their eyes! Grrr to them!

Clare: Welcome back hun. We've missed you. Glad to hear the kids are doing well. About the sleeping issues, you are in good company, this thread has turned into a 'kids who don't sleep' support group.
Deb: How did your presentation go today hun? I can't even imagine giving birth in a cubicle? That is just insane, how those women cope is beyond me. No wonder their C-section rate is so high. Let us know how it went.
Mako: It was great to see you and the adorable Sage today. I realised when we got home we didn't even chat about your plans to move (lol). I hope today goes well and the MIL can deal with the sippy cup.
Michelle: Thanks so much for the belly rubs today. It was so nice to see you and Oscar before we leave and to give Edna a belly rub. Your friend was really nice, I hope I didn't bother her with all my questions.
Willow: Ok, that boy of yours HAS to get a commercial for baby shampoo. He has the best head of hair I have ever seen not to mention how cute he is. Your DD was so well behaved also and she is just the sweetest. Thanks for making the drive to catch up.
Lisa: My solution for sock pulling is tights (lol) Oliver would not keep his socks on ever so I got leggings for winter and they work a treat.
Jayne: Wow you've been busy, I get exhausted just reading about it. Glad to hear the kiddies are on the mend. Here's to no more ear infections.
Well Oliver and I had a lovely day today. Thanks to Michelle, Willow and Mako and the kids for travelling to catch up. I'll miss you all so much but as Willow said, I'll be online all the time so we will still be in constant contact.
DH has a going away dinner with his workmates tonight so I'm still getting stuff done but procrastinating on BB.

Hi Jayne! So glad Claudy is ok and that surgery went well. I was just getting worried as someone said Claudy was in hossy but I didnt know why etc etc.. YAY for work - I find that one day a week in the office is great for me too, it gives me that adult stimulation and gives alex a chance to miss me - not walking yet - but omg doing everything else!! Oh and she just got over an ear infection.
Spring sweets - good luck with all the packing and moving!
Michelle - big belly rubs - hehehe...have you posted any belly pics??
Janie - hows all your ABA stuff going?? Hope your little DS is being a good boy!
Mako - Darwin! wow - me and dh always talk about moving but neither of us have got the guts... although my brother wants to move to Perth or o/s. How is Sage going?
Clare - hi hun - i only found this thread not long ago myself, so dont feel so bad - its hard enough with one bub to catch up on BB, let alone 2!
Willow - sweety try not to worry too much about L - he is bound to eventually settle into some sort of pattern and maybe he needs the wrap for comfort? I dunno, im no expert, alexandra only just started to off to sleep with no trouble in the last week or so. I thought she would just be one of those kids that took 2 hours to put to bed every night. So just as I resigned myself to that, she starts going down without a whimper. Hope L suprises you like that too.
Deb - how did the talk go? hope you knocked some birthing sense into the Iranians!
Sorry if I missed anyone, but have to go, im working from my parents office tomorrow (I'll have no power for 4 hours during the day - grrr), but it works out ok as they will babysit while I work!.
Nighty night ladies..

Firstly Thankyou Willow,Michelle and Spring for a lovely day today.Sage and I loved seeing you and your gorgeous kiddies again. I have to say I was very impressed at how well behaved everyone was. Sage normally has atleast 1 whinge when we are out but guess what? He saved it up for the trip home He started once we hit the freeway and continued all the way to Doyalson(30 mins from home) even after a stop for a feed, stop for panadol, another for a cuddle and bum change I've never had to stop soooo many times for him ever lol. Oh well atleast he's asleep now( in my arms mind you).
We'll have to catch up again though Oh yeh Michelle and Willow I found you both on facebook through Spring.Hope you both don't mind.
I think my DH is really considering the move He had another c*** day again today and once again came home in a filthy mood. It makes things soooo much easier to discuss after a bad day So anyway I'm pretty sure we have an info night tomorrow on working and living in the NT so I'll be looking into that when I get home from work tomorrow.
I'm about to go and try and update some pics if anyone is interested.
BBL to catch up on more personals.

Um hello? Have I missed an action playdate! Thanks for my invite you cows! I'm just kidding ya! I have been to Sydney a few times, so maybe next time I come over I will have to be included in your little groupie action! LOL
LISA _ Ear infections are totally not good, they are not cool, they suck, so I hope that was just a one off for the Little Miss. Yay on Miss A for going to bed like a big girl! That's awesome news! Now I hope the other little bubbas will follow suit!
SPRING _ Are you moving? Sorry, I'm out the loop, you have to catch me up!
All good this end, sleeping children, that's what Mummy loves!
Love Jayne

Spring - just wanted to say that the stocking trick worked! I put her socks over the stockings, and she cant actually take the socks off, they are stuck on the stockings (static), so after a few goes, she gave up! Thanks sooo much
Im working at mums today which is nice, but the little miss things its all a big game and she is refusing to go down for a nap, and I can hear her and my mum from the room, she is giving mum a hard time, but its quite funny actually!
