Red face Feeling nervous about #3 - Anyone else?

I'm starting to get anxious about having bub #3. Not the birth, but life after. I'm starting to think, what on earth have i got myself into? Will i be able to cope?

I haven't felt a day of normalacy since i found out i was pregnant. It's either morning sickness, severe fatigue, insomnia, heartburn/reflux all of which have lasted the entire time pretty much. I find it extrememly hard looking after the 2 kids now as it is, how will i be wth #3? I feel this nausea and tiredness will last forever!

This is the worst pregnancy i have had so far (hopfully that means for a better birth this time!) but i at 27 weeks i still don't feel all that pregnant, in that i still can't believe i'm having a baby. I know there's a baby in there, i feel him every day and i do feel a bond with him. But i just cannot imagine life with 3 children. Will it be hard? Have i taken on too much?

Did/does anyone else feel like this with #3? How did you cope when they were born?

Hi T, it is pretty daunting to think about, but for me, it was all good. Paige just slotted into our family so well and it made the transition from 2 to 3 so much better than I could have anticipated. I think by the time you have your third, you are really in your 'groove' of looking after babies/kids that it's not that big a challenge to add a third one to the mix. Plus you have the advantage of Lily's age where she can be generally more helpful around the place. At times it can be very draining, especially if you've had a sick child/ren, but it wasn't often and there was always an end to it.

I'm sure you'll be fine

I felt exactly the same way Anthia! I was petrified about how the 3rd would impact the family but it was really easy. She was born into a routine and just slotted in perfectly. It was as though she knew exactly waht she was getting into. I found I was alot more at ease with her and my other 2 kids (who were 5 & 3) loved her dearly and entertained her while I was doing mundane household stuff.

On the negative side....There is a HUGE amount of washing!! OMG....it never ends!

OMG YES THE WASHING

I have only recently added #3 - he is 11 wks old today - he is soooooo placid - and like Trillian posted, I think it also has to do with his environment. I don't have time to stress if he has a bad feed or won't go to sleep during the day - I have to do school run, and still do the shopping etc - he just kinda fits in.

However having said that I do find it hard sometimes cos no matter how "good" they are, still time consuming with feeding settling, changing and all that - that is the biggest thing I noticed (again )

DH and I just said the other day what an absolute joy he is.

Good luck.

You'll probably find they will be right by your side for the 1st few weeks. Otherwise quiet time with a DVD, FOOD, or colouring in next to you works wonders.

I so just posted in here and hit post and boom its gone Grrrrrrr.....

Anyway like I was saying you will find that your 3rd just slips into your familys life, as they come out knowing they are number 3, I think it has alot to do with all the noise they hear while you are UTD as 1 nad 2 and fighting you yell at 1 and 2 to stop fighting and so on, I know DD2 would kick me good and hard if I yelled a bit too much at the other two ....

The DVD player was my best friend so teach you oldest one now on how to change it over and press play...

We all go though this we all think that we wont cope but the truth is the second that baby is in this world you wont remember what you used to do before they were here....

yep, i pooped my pants the whole 9 months of pg wondering how i was going to cope with 3 when 2 were so much work.
The first couple of months were hard for me but that was more to do with the boys behaviour deteriorating than anything bub did and i agree with the posts before that #3 does seem to come out knowing there are other kids etc and she is definately the 'easiest' bub ive had to look after even though she's only just started putting herself to sleep and then only has about 30 mins at a time. She is definately yht most mellow.

I'm sure you will cope, you just do. Good luck!

I am so glad you posted this question Antheia. I am quietly stressing out about life with 3 under 4! Bub number 2 was a bit of a challenge and the lack of sleep for the first 9 months of her life really mucked with my personal well being. I am hoping and praying that this bub will a good sleeper.
