Thanks everyone! I wish last night was the night Sarah! My cold has turned nasty and I have a wicked cough... one of the student midwives thinks it will happen tonight seeing as my immune system has given up the ghost finally after fighting off 2 of Izzy's colds!

We'll see - 7 days late would be nice. Lots of tears this morning mainly because I'm sore from not sleeping well and coughing... ARrrrrrrrgghhhhh. The visual pic of my handsome little man is keeping me focused though so fingers crossed. DH is about to take Iz to the park for a bit so I can have a bath on my own (she cracks it if I'm in and she's not!) so will take a nice lemsip honey drink with me, clary sage oil and a trashy OK mag I bought yesterday!

While you are at your worst & won't have much strength to push.

Well that's what a few people have said. but one very wise, wonderful BB lady told me that whatever happens LISTEN TO KELLY.... so I will be holding to that and hoping he slips out nice and easily and quickly!

I actually thought when I got sick that it wouldn't happen for days and days (which I don't have) because bub won't want to arrive in crisis. Ugh whatever - I've been up for a total of 10 mns and need to go lie down on the couch again.... all.

Tears are a really good sign. I had a meltdown not long before going into labour with DS2. It won't be long now hun, and it will be worth the wait. Sick or not, you can do this when the time comes. I had DS2 after being really ill with a vomitting bug for 4 days. I was severely dehydrated and all. But the labour was quick and easy and DS2 was just perfect. Oh and giving birth cured the bug too, lol!!

All the best hun. Have a good rest.

Awww Tan You are going to have an awesome birth, the little man you've been waiting so long for will come out. The strength is in you, whether you're sick or not, you have the strength. You can do this Tan. Like the wise BB lady told you, listen to Kelly. She is fantastic.I didn't want to talk at the time (we had her on the phone) but I was listening to everything she said & it helps heaps.

Aww Tan, colds suck at the best of times. However, maybe use it as part of your visualisations... the coughs are helping push him down, down, down to you.

as Mantaray says, tears are a really good sign, as they trigger endorphins that help get things going. in the old days, the birth attendants would unplait the birthing woman's hair, and make sure there were no knotted, locked or bolted items in the room - symbolically opening the way for the baby to birth.

one thing i remember clearly from my VBAC (homebirth) was i didn't go into labour fully until the kids had all been put to bed and i wasn't on "mummy duty" anymore. i'd gently laboured all day but things really got going when i could relax. i think i did the hula for about three hours!!! i also did a fair bit of squatting to get the baby's head down on my cervix and get things moving.

you will birth safely, Tan. I'm sure of it! you've done so much preparation, be proud of yourself

Default Venting.......whinging......Venting........

More tears. 8 days overdue and all I can think is how I am running out of fr!gg!ng time.... they are going to push for Wed/Thur tomorrow and I am well prepared for the fight but all this working UP to a fight is taking it out of me..... Even Friday is frightening me but there is no way they will let me go to 17 days over

Why can't he just come out... every night I think - well women tend to go into labour at night, and each night I got to sleep, wkae up to pee a few times and wake up in the morning counting another day that this baby hasn't arrived yet.

I want to birth my baby. I don't want surgery. I know I can do this if I can just get off the d@mn starting blocks ...... Not in a very good head space am I - but how am I meant to be....
Glad tears are good because I don't think I will stop for most of today again either but then that makes me get worried that bub won't come when I am upset like this Argh Im sick of overanalysing everything and am trying not to but it is getting SO hard...

Tan, I think you need a nice relaxing induction massage to get rid of that stress babe... can you fit it into the budget, tomorrow or Weds? I think it's what you really need right now hon... what do you think?

I also think you need a new mantra. Something like:

'I trust that I have inner knowledge of the birth process; trust that my baby knows the journey; trust that I will draw to me those we need for support; and I trust in the power and flow of birthing energy.'

-- Rhea Dempsey

Remember, no matter what, you can always say NO. I'll come with you (or even Deb) if you need strength babe.

Thanks Kel - I was thinking that too although I was going to see Justin again Tuesday but haven't booked yet. I had one of those shopping centre 30 mins seated ones yesterday but now I've got sore shoulders... silly man.

I am well and truly ready to tell them what I want tomorrow especially when my scan and monitoring come back as "excellent" like they did the other day. The lady said, oh we like to see a minimum of 5 cms of fluid in 5 areas and most of mine had more than 7cms so I can't see it radically changing... It's just the mental lead up to it if that makes sense.

I think DH and I will take Iz to St Kilda for a stroll and play at the beach today and I really am trying to relax as much as possible. Thanks so much hun, will call you tomorrow and let you know how I go. I might need couselling too at the end of all this
