We had Romeo and Juliet by Dire Straits... Funny choice, but we really liked the song...

That was our bridal waltz song! If you'd call it a waltz!

I'm not married yet, but I would LOVE Madonna's 'cherish'. Corny or what? Couldnt see DF going for that one.. Otherwise Aerosmith 'I dont want to miss a thing' or I second Goo Goo Dolls 'Iris'.

We were the same as Kimbaz. We danced to Beautiful in My Eyes. DH slightly edited it though as we took lessons and had a correographed dance but we just had to shorten it slightly.

Regina Spektor's cover of John Lennon's Real Love. Could hardly hear it at the ceremony though because of all the wind on the beach!

Cookiemonster - Bright Eyes was on our list too, but I don't think it's quite right as a song. We played it while people were waiting for me to turn up (I was pretty late!)

We danced to "Thankyou for Loving me" by Bon Jovi. The words to that song are just beautiful, if I couldn't marry Jon Bon Jovi I had to have him there somehow, LOL.

Regina Spektor's cover of Real Love is one of mine & my DH's "songs"
The original Real Love song is one of our songs, and we're getting matching tattoo's of the sheet music verse that says "seems that all I was really was doin', was waiting for you" with our wedding date on it. Hard to explain but I will take pics of it when it is done

Talking

Mummy_of_many ... oh, that is brilliant (Abba song - I do I do I do) ... I'm not married BUT I'm there with you on an upbeat song to get everyone in laughing spirits .... (reminds me of a friends ancient Grandmother who had Dancing Queen at her funeral. So sad she lost the plot in the last few years & spent her days dancing around the house to Abba's Dancing Queen. Oh, well at least it made her Happy )

Cookiemonster (ASH) ... I'm a concert junkie from way back ... and Bryan Adams takes the cake in concerts. Ask anyone that has been to one of his past concerts & they will rave about him

I was at a Wedding in the late eighties & I hear that the couple were going to have a Midnite oil song as the bridal waltz so I didn't want to miss it ... well I was too busy having a wee in the loo as I got drunk before the waltz had started & yep, you guessed it I missed it That would have been a sight to see !!

My best friend for her bridal waltz had the popular song from the movie "Ghost" (she got married the year this movie was released)... I've gotta admit it was so corny BUT so them as a couple ... it was suitable

I'd love Pat Benatar's " I'm the Boss " (a jazz version) would be funny !!
