Lea13 - I think you need to change the first line of the post - this thread is for March 2006, not December 2005 (don't want to confuse anyone!). Don't mean to be picky!

About to head off to bed now and seriously hoping Lucy decides tomorrow morning is a good one to sleep in.

Kas - darnit, I would have loved to see you on Thurs, maybe next time! We're having another dinner in August, maybe you'll have an excuse to come to Sydney then?!

Hey guys. OMG I've so lost touch with this thread - sorry guys!

Well, something inspired me to put Tallon in his own bed last night (probably the constant kicks I cop in the kidneys through the night?? LOL) and he slept through until 6am, and DH brought him in to me. Aah.. I can't tell you how good it was to have some space in the bed! LOL. I'd kinda given up putting him in his bed, coz it's been too cold to get up and fetch him if he wakes. I said to DH, lets just stick it out for the cold months, we'll have a few months left before the baby comes to persevere with his bed... but like I said, I suddenly decided to put him there last night. LOL. Good thing I have an easygoing little boy! heh.

We gave him his first hair cut last friday night. DH did it. LOL. His little mohawk down the middle had gotten way too long and was hanging over his forehead and he looked so dorky! So he now has a #4 cut all over.. cute & spiky But it's lost it's baby softness Got it all on video, so that was a bit of fun.

OK must go. I promise to try and visit more, and sorry for no personals.. I haven't really caught up on the old thread.

Hi Girls,

Well i am in a sort of routine after baby number 2! I am very sore still though so fingers crossed this goes away soon. Tayneesha loves being a big sister and it has not affected her too much, she is a little clingy and wants the same as Shayla ie - when shayla is being fed Tayneesha has to sit in my lap and have her bottle as well. If Shayla is in her rocker then Tayneesha sits in her little fold out couch and watches Tv.... the list goes on.

I am loving being a mother the second time around again and it seems so much easier than the first as you no what to expect with the baby. It is alot busier thats for sure and i am run off my feet but fortunately Shayla sleeps well at night so i am getting some sleep at least. I am still tired and catching up on sleep but overall i feel great just a little sleepy in the arvo so i now have nanna naps again when i can

I am a bit out of whack at the mom with all the posts please forgive me but it seems like all of your bubbas are growing up well and behaving themselves! Tayneesha is doing fine and growing rapidly as well as starting the toddler years etc etc. She has done a few times the whole throw herself on the ground and have a tantrum (she learnt it at daycare i am sure...) it is funny to watch thats for sure. Anyone else have this problem yet?

Well must be off i am going to have a sleep before the troops get home and it is caos....

Will BBL when i get a chance.

Jen

Hi girls!

Wow - Tallon in the big bed already, well done! I'm not quite game enough to take the sides off Lucy's bed yet. I might wait until summer, when I'm sure all the blankets won't be needed. His hair cut sounds too cute - poor Lucy still doesn't have anywhere near enough hair, let alone to get it cut!

Jen - great to hear from you. Hope you're recovering well. It must be strange having two children around! Lucy hasn't thrown herself on the floor to have a tantrum yet, but when she objects to being put in her car seat or stroller she goes all stiff and arches her back while yelling a bit. I just tell her I'll finish putting her in when she's done and wait for her to stop. So far hasn't lasted longer than a few seconds. Lucy is very easy-going.

Heaps busy working here, looking forward to the weekend (although I'll still have work to do then). But I'm so lucky to still be home with Lucy all the time while I work, so I can't complain!

Have a great weekend!

Hi everyone!!!!
Jen - i am happy to hear you have settled in at home with Shayla and Tayneesha is coping. I hope you recover quickly, and yes get as many nanna naps as you can.

Jen13- Lucy is in the same boat as Liam with the hair. His has only started to grow and thicken up in the last few weeks, so we won't be having a haircut anytime soon either! I think Brad was abit past two when he got his first one. So i am sure you have nothing to worry about with miss Lucy. And lets face it the less hair the less food gets rubbed in it. How was the reunion? I will keep my eyes posted for the dinner in august.

Liz- wow at Tallon in his big bed. It must be a nice break for you not being kicked evry night! As for the hair cut do you think he looks so much older now? My nephew who is the same age as all our littlies had his cut a few weeks ago looks so much older now. I hope you are travelling well through your pg and getting enough rest. You and Jen (I feel like i am forgetting someone...am I?) are the only ones technically "allowed" to have nanna naps ATM, so enjoy.

Well i am not an overly happy camper. I am no closer to moving into my house than i was a month ago, or at least that is how it feels! Originally we were told we should be right to move at the end of these holidays now we are looking at another 4 weeks as i was informed this morning. And these little pictures don't even half sum up what i am feeling. Just when we thought we could see the end it gets pushed away again. DH has just had holidays and pretty much didn't need to cause we didn't move, his car #*!^ itself and we had to outlay money we had saved to do stuff on the house to get a new one (which we were going to do in the next 6 months anyway, but at least we would have had the house stuff done and more money saved), and our storage is paid up until a few days before we will move so will have to pay that again just to use for a few extra days to a week!!!!! I am sure i will get over this initial anger by the end of today i just needed to get it out. So thanks for letting me vent.

On to better things..... Liam and i are still booby feeding- just the once at night. DH would like it if i stopped so i could take the pill (i never remember to take the mini pill) cause he hates condoms but i told him he will just have to wait. Yes Liam is a tantrum chucker...big time. He sits himself down then throws himself back so his head hits the floor then either kicks his legs or rolls around. Once he realises no is watching he stops. But if we look back to quickly once he has sat or stood back up he starts all over again OR he will kneel down and head butt the floor and then continue with the crying and rolling as i mentioned previosly. My guess is he learnt this from his brother because he can still put on a good performance as well.

Thats all from me today i you are all well. And hello to those who may still be reading but not posting, i hope you too are doing well and your toddlers are behaving.

Too true! When he's eating an apple it gets rubbed all over his hair LOL. He does look a bit older with his hair cut.. but it was looking really messy and just HAD to be cut. He had a long mohawk down the middle of his head, and the longer it got, the balder he looked on the sides.. so it's evened it up a bit now. Still has a stripe of hair down the middle, but not as bad now.

I was bald until I was 2, so any hair Tallon has now would be thanks to DH heh.

Tallon's been really good in his bed. I put him down about 10pm, I lie down with him after a quick boobie feed, and he goes off to sleep. He wakes around 7am and gets himself up and comes in to our bed for a feed and more sleep. Love it It's funny how I just suddenly decided to try his bed again... must have been my instincts kicking in that it was time to try again. hehe.

Kas - how frustrating about the house! Can't wait to hear your excitement at actually moving in It WILL happen!

No tantrums here. Tallons a very placid boy, he signs for things that he wants, and if I say no he has a cute little fake whingy face that he pulls, but then he gets over it. He's quite stubborn tho, we're struggling a bit with discipline for things like climbing up on the back of the lounge and playing with the blinds. Think we need some climbing equipment outside so he can get it out of his system and stop climbing up everything in the house!

OK, must go, gotta make a few phone calls while he's asleep.

Hope you're all well.

Hi All,
I have been so slack not posting for ages but i have been busy settling into the house since my PILS have moved into their caravan now - they are off next week - i am actually going to miss them.

My boys are all well, Cailan has 3 teeth coming in and is a bit sooky ATM. DS1&2 are both learning signing and are going to the early intervention centre for their speech and language - it is very busy getting them to and from - which brings me to some fantastic news - I have finally got my drivers licence! It's only a few years late but that alright - i now have it and WOW! at the independence!
My BIL and his fiance had a baby girl on the 7th of the 7th 07, Susan, she is so cute, 9lb 6 51cms, good sized little darling, via c/sec. Went to Gladestone for a visit and she is just gorgeous.
I have to have more tests before my tubes are reversed, seeing the gyno soon, after my papsmear has to be repeated. Not much else ATM, hopefully will do some personals soon.

Hi Steph, good to hear from you. Congrats on getting your drivers' licence, it must be great to have all that freedom! And even though you'll miss your PsIL, I'm guessing it'll be nice to have the place to yourselves. Congrats also on becoming an aunty to your niece.

Do your DSs have hearing problems or is the signing just to help their speech and language development? When did you discover they needed the help? Oucy on poor little Cailan's teeth.

Good luck on all of your tests, hope the reversal goes ahead soon.

Hi Liz, how's the pg coming along? Is it very different to your pg with Tallon? Yay at Tallon using the big bed!! Lucy sometimes sleeps in on our bed in the mornings and it's so cute when she wanders out after she's woken up. Lucy also doesn't seem to throw tantrums. If she's really tired she'll chuck a bit of a fit but is easily distracted and tends to settle down very quickly. And I hear you on the climbing thing. Running around outside tends to get rid of most of the energy, but I resort to going to the park for some added physical stimulation. Although in this weather that's hard!

Oh Kas, I hope you are much closer to getting into your house!! How frustrating with all of the delays. Good on you for still bfing, although it sounds like Liam is gradually weaning himself. I got the Mirena IUS so we didn't have to worry about condoms. The mini-pill just was not an option, in all likelihood we'd have welcomed #2 by now had we gone with that!

Well, we are busy here, me with work and Lucy with growing. She's eating us out of house and home (still), she's up to two weet-bix and a piece of toast every morning and so it goes on. She's learnt to do some of the actions to the Wiggles songs (she's a huge fan), she reaches into the sky, touches the ground, turns around, touches her head, toes, mouth and nose and now rubs her hands together for the mashed banana bit. It's so cute and I'm endeavouring to videotape it.

We start back at swimming lessons on Saturday evening and I'm looking forward to seeing how much further she can get under her own steam. She's also started saying more words and will repeat them if you ask her ('car' and 'shoe' are newies). She puts things away on shelves and drawers or pencils back in the pencil case if asked (sometimes unprompted, but not always reliably!).

That's about all for us. I've been working so much I feel like a holiday already and I've got a few more months of this to look forward to! Bring on Christmas, I say!

Hi to everyone else...

Jen13 ~ Little Lucy sounds like one clever duck! Doing so much already, is she Miss Independent? What a great eater - she is eating more than me by the sounds of it!
DSs have no hearing problems, they have been checked out. The signing is just to reduce frustration for both sides. I think one of their major probs was when we lived down south they had no contact with other kids -EVER! Until DS1 started to go to preschool down there, he didn't know any other kids. Also their lives have just been one big upheaval after another. Since the time archer was born we have moved house 5 times, including two moves interstate, we have had two more babies and I had severe postnatal depression which I have been told by the Child health nurse here; can significantly delay speech and language. The poor kids have been pulled from pillar to post since theirs births and I am looking forward to making a home here and settling down with them. I feel awful for uprooting their lives, we'll have to stay put, at least for the next 6 years while PIL's are away anyhow. Sorry for blabbing on so.

Liz ~ Hows the pregnancy? Quite excting!

Congrats to Jen on the birth of Shayla Marie! Sorry it is belated, I have only just read the news! How's it all going?

Hi Kas, tantys at your place hey!? Won't it be great to get into your own house! Cailan sometimes chucks tantys, he is clever, if his brothers even think about taking something off him he lets out a scream, talk about getting someone in to trouble. lol

Hi to all I have missed, hope all mums and bubs are happy and healthy.

Hi Steph, It is great to hear from you and that you are all going well. Oh and congrats on the licence, i bet it has made a huge difference for you. Well Done!!!!

Well we have our new supervisor who i discussed some of the house issues with and we are meeting him on site next wednesday with the hope of moving the following one.....BUT we all know that is unlikely to happen given the track record.

My DH's Brother and wife are expecting their third child tomorrow, a boy- at 39 weeks. She is being induced as he is only small and fluid is low. So i should have a new nephew by lunchtime or mid afternoon! I can't wait to see another little one, it brings it all back, (both my boys deliveries and first few days are still so clear)! And just for a slight milliseceond you think you could do it all again, but no...not here. I will just enjoy any bubbas that are born around me.

Thats all from here today

Congratulations Aunty Kas! Hope you get your fill of new baby cuddles!! Let us know all the stats when you hear...

Steph - sounds like the 6 years in one spot will do all of you a world of good, especially the boys. How's the signing going? Lucy isn't overly independent, but she is quite capable. She doesn't want my help with some things, but pesters me to do others for her. I think once she's got the hang of it she doesn't want any assistance though.

We had the first swimming lesson of the term last night and Lucy can go over 10 metres on her own! She tipped herself face forward at one point and got a huge mouthful of water that she wasn't too happy about, but otherwise she's getting the hang of it. Some of our buddies from last term aren't there this time, so she's the only one who can swim on her own (some newies along for the first time). I think this'll be her last term in the baby class, depending on how far she gets. It'll be fun over summer now we have a pool to use. Enough bragging for now...! I won't go near the episodes we're having with throwing food off the high chair...! From now on, the foot is going down. If it gets tossed, the meal is over and nothing else until the next one. Time to be tough Mummy!

Must go, dinner to cook!

Hi girls,
I am in the household of the sick .

Liam and i have a virus, he also had a double ear infection last week. As of yesterday he now has slap cheek disease and looks absolutely terrible. It hasn't really effected him apart from the virus stuff he just looks bad. Bradley has been off school all week with a temp, rosey cheeks and was sooo sleepy. He probably could have gone today but he had a restless night and if he had the slap cheek it would not be good as his teacher is pregnant and it can hurt bubs.

Yes another hold up on the house.....funny that eh? Had to postpone carpet layer again and have him rebooked for the 15the of august. So we wait another two weeks, but at least by then everything should be fixed .

Well done to Lucy at swimming, Liam has only had one lesson! I should do something about that shouldn't I ? As for the food throwing.......?!?!?!?!?! Um, good luck with that! (hehe)

Liam has summons me, so i must obey!
Take care, bye

Oh kas, I hope you all feel better soon! What is slap cheek exactly? At least the 15th is just around the corner and hopefully that will be the very last thing you have to get done. Have you set a move-in date yet? Post some photos on your BB album!

We are doing well here. Lucy and I have a touch of a cold, but nothing serious, more like a bit of a runny nose than anything else. I have taken on a couple of new clients, one of whom I've been hoping for and working on for a little while, so a very good week for me, work-wise.

Lucy did even better at swimming on Sat night. She can now swim the width of the pool on her own and her teacher has made me take one of the three bubble inserts out so she has to learn to float a bit better on her own. She just loves it so much and doesn't really want me to hold her in the pool anymore. I have to be on hand for the tip-forwards and the longer distances when she starts to go under, but otherwise she is definitely confident!

We went to a trivia night on the weekend and had a great time. Not much else to report, really, just working and playing with Lucy when I get a chance!

Hope everyone else is well. Jen, how is little Shayla doing? Has Tayneesha taken on the role of big sister well?

Steph - how are you doing now you have the house to yourselves? How are the boys doing with signing?

Liz - how are you feeling, matey? This pg seems to be flying by! Does Tallon get the idea that Mummy has a baby in her belly? We've decided we're taking the sides off Lucy's cot as soon as it's warm enough not to leave the heater on. Probably soon. She doesn't really move around when she sleeps and it'll give her some freedom to get up when she wakes up. How does Tallon get out of his room when he gets up, or do you leave his door open?

Hi Girls,

just a quick update for me as hectic here this week.

Talking of Trivia we are going to one of thse tonight with some friends should be fun!

Shayla is doing great guns she is gaining weight and sleeps well really well!!! Not sure if i should worry but she seems to sleep from 10pm at night till 7am in the morning. I am not too concerned as i get a heap of sleep but it just seems too good to be true? Tayneesha use to wake at least 2-3 times a night but Shayla no loves here sleep....
She has a congested nose and that at the moment as it is cane harvesting etc and all the pollen adn crap in the air must be affecting her. Tayneesha has the snuffles and so do i so maybe a hayfever thing? I am just using euky bear, saline drops and vaporiser so hopefully that clears her up.

Tayneesha is booked in for her ear operation tomorrow. She is getting grommets i am a bit scard for her as she has to go under and she is teething badly and getting the hot sweats etc etc. It is her last teeth to come through and it is the eye teeth and it is taking forever ! All four are coming through at once but taking there time thats for sure. She is waking up at night as well so we have been putting her in our bed she wakes up between 12am and 4am in the morning i am assuming it is teeth and ears that is waking her. I haven't been able to give her anything for the last 10 days as it could effect her in surgery. It has been full on the last week or so in this house
