Wow Sharon, you're a legend. My DP is home for the next 2 months and I don't know if I could do all this without him...what a sook I am. And my mum is staying with us too, at least for another couple of days.
Congrats on the milk coming in Kirra. Once mine came in (at about 4 days) the grazes got less and less, and now I'm completely healed (thank goodness for Lansinoh). Hopefully you're on your way.
Kristie, we've yet to experience our first explosive poo, our little girl is very ladylike and keeps them nicely contained in her nappy. Although I vaguely recall a pretty messy one DP had to handle on about day 3...
Katie was up a lot again last night, waking up every 2 hours and staying awake for 2 hours. Took her out to the shops for a bit this morning and she screamed the place down...hopefully it's worn her out and she'll sleep a bit longer tonight...but I'm prepared for anything

Hi Ladies,
Glad to hear that everyones milk has come in!
I have been using Lasinoh too, as both my nipples were grazed while the girls were waiting for my milk to come in.
Amber is an angry feeder and is quite rough at times. She is also a chucker and vomits after each feed. None of my others have really been chuckers, so its a new one for me.
Kaylee is a slower, gentler feeder and my twin feeding pillow arrived yesterday, so I am starting to attempt dual feeding, its pretty tough still, but I plan to succeed, otherwise I feel like all I do is feed!
Amber has woken up today with a goopy eye - does anyone have any suggestions, other than cleaning it reglarly with water? My midwife suggested squirting breastmilk in it, so I may try that.
Deni - Sorry to hear that your DH had to go back to work so soon. I'm glad you have some support nearby. My DH goes back to work on Monday.
Fussyboots - Welcome! My DH and I both worked in IT too, although I changed careers at the start of this year and I am now training to be a vet nurse.
Well I best be off, the girls are starting to grizzle.
Chat soon

Hi!
Kirra - I'm so glad bubs is doing so well! Hope you enjoyed your afternoon!
Anjanette - Hope you manage to get some sleep tonight!
Shell - Bugger at Amber being a chucky bub! I found the bouncer to be very useful to keep bubs upright after a feed and also putting the bassinette/cot up on a bit of an angle as well...actually we've done that with Ethan as well - just find that it helps with wind a bit...
Wow - well done on the dual feeding - I imagine it would be hard to get the hang of!
As for the goopy eye - I would have suggested breastmilk as well! Works wonders!
We had nice arvo! Dh picked up my treadmill which was a bit exciting! I haven't used it properly yet though...Bubs has been good although still a little unsettled - then I tried to feed him earlier and he just fell straight back asleep so he had to wait until his next feed to have his bath...He loves having his bath and gives dh time to bond with him! He hasn't much time with Ethan as he's busier with the older 2!!
Ok...best get organised and go to bed! Hope you all get some sleep tonight!

Fussyboots- they are starting to feel a little better since my milk come in, DP went up and got me some Marsolan or someting like that so hopefully within the next week it will clear up. Charli decided last night she would feed lots so i thought 'awesome' i'll get a good sleep tonight, went to bed at 9 but didnt get to sleep until 1am and she ended up sleeping with me which i think is the only reason she slept at all. Now im waiting to give her a bath and she won't wake up, figures. lol.
I experienced Charli's first explosive poo yesterday, i had just gotten her dressed in some nice clean clothes and she did a massive poo that was all through her nappy and coming out the back, so i had to change her again... btw, those bonds easysuits are not at all easy. lol. All in all we had 2 poo's yesterday, both requiring a change of clothes.
ATT- I can't imagine feeding twins, i feel like all i do now is feed charli so with twins it must be that much more time consuming, hopefully you'll get the hang of it quick. Charli is a really rough feeder too, she sucks soooo hard at first and gives me 'the look'. lol After a minute or so thankfully she settles down, no wonder my nipples are so sore. lol
Krisvee- you just gave me an idea.... i'll get DP to bath Charli. lol. He hasn't done it yet and is feeling a lil like 'she loves me more'. lol. I have to laugh at him but he just wants to be able to feed her, was thinking of getting a breast pump to gives my nipples a little bit of a rest from her but don't think she'll come back to the breast properly once shes had the bottle, thats what lys did anyway.
Speaking of my lil devil. hehe. She's just starting to stir, got the hiccups, so cute.
Hope everyone gets some much needed rest and sleep.
Hugs to all

Hi!
LOL Kirra - I had someone tell me those bonds easy suits were not that great - I haven't invested in any luckily but I definitely would had I not knows...
I've got milk in the freezer as I've pumped just to relieve my boobs! Both my boys won't take a bottle though the cheeky buggers...they know it's not the real thing! I think Louis may have had 1 when he was little and then he wouldn't have it again...so they've never had bottles! A bit hard though as it means I'm tied up for a year of bfing...I don't mind but on some occassions it would be nice to have a break!! Not sure if Ethan will be the same...My boobs are way to full to miss a feed anyway right now...!
Had a good night last night - Ethan just fed and slept...he seems to wake up for more feeds at night though...
Is anyone using a dummy yet? I find he wants to bf to get to sleep after having an awake time but then gives himself to full a tummy to fall asleep easily...Dylan we gave a dummy on about day 3! LOL! But Ethan seems to be doing so well without it...might need to get him onto one when dh goes back to work just so he gets to sleep easier...While I was settling him this morning the boys managed to spread a game with lots of pieces all over the house and then they bashed heads and Dylan had a blood lip...lucky dh was up then...What chaos! LOL!
I nearly had a teary this morning...dh was up until 2am playing computer games so needed a sleep in this morning - WTF? I was really cross...It's not like he's on holidays...He better not do it again or I'll be really upset...I'm meant to be getting rest/sleep now as it will be all out the window when he's back at work!
Anyway...hope you all enjoy your weekends! Chat later!

morning all. Katie slept even less than usual last night, only going down for 90 minutes at a time...mummy is very tired too. Partly because she chucked up 3 times before she went down and she was making a funny weazy noise while feeding before that. So the first time she went down (at midnight mind you) I didn't actually sleep as I was listening to make sure she wasn't choking. She seems fine this morning though. I guess I should be grateful that my first scary night took two weeks to happen
Hope everyone has a good day.

Hey girls,
hope you're all managing to get through the lack of sleep !
Kirra - little Charli sounds like a dream!
Josef was hard work last night / this morning. He was doing reasonably well with 3hr feeds until 2am, when I fed him and then couldn't settle him, I gave him to mum (i'm staying here for a few more days until hubbie returns) to settle thinking it would take her only half an hour, so I could get some sleep, but she was still up with him at 7.30am when he was due for anotehr feed, he'd only slept half an hour in that time, and then he wouldn't go to sleep no matter what I tried - in total he was awake for 10 hours !!! That is just too much for a little bubby. the poor little man, he struggled through a few more morning feeds and finally zonked out in the pram at 1pm. I felt guilty waking him for a feed 4 hours later, I didn't want a repeat of that whole experience tonight, that baby has reversed his body clock ! He's stayed sleepy the rest of the afternoon but I've been trying to wake him for regular feeds so he's tired tonight.
Kristie - josef is definately one of those babies who gets comfort from sucking. After deliberation and talking to the nurses at the hospital we decided to let him have one to help us settle him, but we try not to put him to bed with one, because it inevitably falls out and he wakes up wanting it again. If he doesn't have his dummy, he manages to get his hands up through the swaddling and sucks on his fists. He did it within 1 hour of being out of the womb - he must have done it while in there too we reckon!
ATT - I admire you with your determination to get Bf working with twins!! I feel even with one I seem to be constantly breastfeeding!!
Josef with his sleepiness has been taking only one side/shorter feeds which means he's not getting the hind milk so much and then wants another feed an hour or somethign afterward.. I'm going to try and stretch it from today so he has a decent feed and a fuller tummy.

HI!
Hello everyone and congratulations to you all!
I had a baby boy on Nov 2 by emergency c-section as my blood pressure went up and I started to develop pre-eclampsia. He was only 2.2kg and had to spend some time in the special care nursery being tube fed so I ended up staying in hospital for over 2 weeks. It nearly drove me nuts, but thankfully we're home now. We named him David Robert and his two older brothers ( Mitchell 7 and Adam 4) seem pleased with him so far . He's been a little bit erratic with his feeding/settling, sometimes he goes for 3 hrs between feeds and other times only an hour.
I went and hired an electric breast pump yesterday and expressed some milk so my husband fed him last night so I could get some sleep which was good. The caesarean was a bit of shock because I had both vaginal births for my first two, plus I had a chest infection so every time I coughed it was agony where I had my cut/wound. I'm feeling better now just tired but thats life with a newborn isnt it?
Had a burst of energy this morning and started trying to tidy up/vaacuum and now I feel completely buggered and I know David's going to wake up any minute for another feed. But I know its all worth it when I'm having a beautiful cuddle/smooch with him.
Hope everyone gets some sleep tonight,
Nessie

Hi all,
Nessie - sorry to hear about ur c-sec, hopefully you'll heal nice and quick and your chest inf goes away.
Hope every1 else is well, Charli has been good last couple of nights, although sun night she was so unsettled and all she wanted to do was feed, fairly certain she had a pain but nothing but the boob would settle her. She's been feeding every hour today and im wondering when she'll get into a better pattern, midwife says its normal for her to feed so often but i wonder...
she was weighed on thursday and had lost 270g, weighed again on sat and she'd put on 290g so she was 20g abover her birth weight, so proud of her but not really suprised considering she's a vulture. lol.
better go catch up on other threads.

Hi everyone, I hope you are all recovering well and big hugs to all the new bubbas.
I haven't posted for a while as i had been enjoying spending time with DH - he is now back at work. Logan is feeding well and is up usually twice during the night for a feed. The feeds are the easy part, but getting him back to sleep is very draining. He seems to have more wind at night and last night took about an hour to go down after feeding! We have our 2 week MCHN visit tomorrow, so I will be interested to see how much he weighs. He was back to birth weight in a week of being discharged, so like Charli he is vulture that loves his milk
Nessie - sounds like you have had a tough time but you must be so glad to be at home now - hope you are feeling better soon. Our babies share a birthday
OMG OMG - I put Logan on the floor for some tummy time and he rolled over onto his back. I am very excited, is this normal for a 17 day old???

Hi all,
my mum went home today after spending the last two weeks with us. In the past I would have been ready for her to go within hours of her arrival, but this time she's been fantastic and I'm really going to miss her, I even shed a tear...that's never happened before...maybe motherhood has mellowed me.
Me and Kate and Jeff are on our own now...just a teensy bit scary.

Hi all,
Just popping in quickly to say hello before i head off to bed.
We have our first home visit tomorrow from the MCHN, can't wait to see how my baby girl is growing. Had a bad night with alyssa tonight, she pulled out all her toys today and we told her at 5pm to pick them up. 8pm i went in to put her to bed (which was half hour after i told her it was bed time and to hurry up an clean up her room) and she hadnt cleaned anything up off her bed, only the floor so i put it all in a garbage bag and told her it was going in the bin, boy was i not happy. To make matters worse DP sat on the comp all night so i had to feed charli and deal with alyssa. Thankfully they are all asleep now and i can get some rest..... oh and to top all that off my washing machine broke yesterday, its all electric so it looks like its gonna cost a fortune, last thing i need with a baby and baskets and baskets of washing. The repair man is coming in the morning so hopefully he can fix it then, otherwise i'll be spending the day at my sisters doing washing.
Enough of my whinging....
Kylie- so good to hear logan rolled over, its def normal for baby to roll from tummy to back so early, alyssa was 9 days old when she did, charli hasnt had much tummy time, although that will hopefully change tomorrow when i get her a lil kick and play gym thingo.
Fussyboots- lol @ motherhood mellowing you, it does do that to you. hehe. I'm sure you'll be fine without your mum, it does get a lil easier. lol
Well im off to bed to get some sleep while charli does.

We had our 2 week appt yesterday and Logan has put on another 415g in 9 days. He has put on a total of 800g in the two weeks since leaving hospital. He is now 4.75kg - what a chubba

Hi ladies
we are here! just feeding Lily so my typing isworse than usual. just posted my birth story in our old thread - should have put it in here!
have been simming your posts.
for sore nipples, don't bother with creams, use your breast milk on them. I found it best with both - and I was bad with Piper! Also, no dummies for us - im too lazy to put it back in when they spit it out.
Im demand feeding which seems to be every 2 hours or so, although I got a 4 hour stint last night so feel great!
im looking for a new sling thogh as Lily doesn't like the ring sling - any suggestions?
ok, have to go, its so slow typing ith 1 finger!
catch you all soon!

Katie loves the sling we're using...essentially a 'front cross wrap' which goes over both shoulders and snuggles her up against my chest. I made it myself as it's basically just a strip of fabric that is 5m x 50cm that ties around me. But you can buy them commercially of course, eg Hugaboo. Good luck in your search.
