Default 1st Period since having DD, pain in ?ovary? when using Tampon (TMI, sorry)

I have just had AF return for the first time since having DD. I always used tampons before having DD and never had any problems. When I used one yesterday I got a pain which seemed to be around my right ovary? is it possible to be the ovary? I removed the tampon and used a pad instead and the pain went, however my period is so heavy and using a pad is discusting (sp?) , however when I tried a tampon again today the pain came back, removed it and it is gone!

Has anyone else had this happen? Please tell me that I will be able to use tampons again, I can not deal with using pads. I am going to see my Dr in a couple of days but I am hoping the my period will calm down by then (please say it will, it can't possibly stay this heavy for to long, can it?!!)

Thanks in advance, sorry for TMI !

Deanne.

I cannot use tampons for the same reason (sharp pain on my left ovary) and lately it has become a more constant pain throughout my cycle. I also get the pain after DTD.

I am going in for a laparoscopy next month with suspected endometriosis. I'm not saying that is what you have but its probably worth getting checked out.

I agree I think you need to take this to your GP. I could be something as simple as a pulled ligament (your bits are held together inside by ligaments) or a benign ovarian cyst, but it could also indicate something else that needs to be treated. I'm pretty sure the GP will feel your abdomen and order an ultrasound first up. Easy!
