Question Depo provera injections??

Just wondering if anyone has or is using this contraceptive & what, if any side effects it has? I have done some internet searches on it, but would rather hear from someone who actually has experience with it iykwim.
I was on the pill when i fell pg with both Mya-Rose & Bodhi. After Bodhi was born i tried the implanon iud for about 8months, but this caused all sorts of problems for me...ie: bled for pretty much the whole 8months bar a couple of days each week, weight gain & pretty bad mood swings. So im not keen to try either one of these again.
I was talking with a nurse & she said to maybe try these Depo provera injections.

I was on it for about 18 months. Didn't bleed at all in that time, but I did have weight gain (about 15kg in the time I was on it) , bad mood swings and really bad acne. I've never in my life had a pimple beforehand.
I've been on both the implanon & the depo, and I would have to say the depo was a lot better than the implanon.

The problem with depo is that if you do get a bad reaction to it (like excess bleeding) you could get it right up til it wears off in three months. I had a friend who had this happen to her and she never touched it again. I've also had friends that loved it.

I was looking into contraception recently & I remember reading that depo should only be used for a max of 2 years because it can cause you to lose calcium from your bones therefore long term usage could lead to osteoporosis so if you do choose it you will not be able to use it long term.

Hmmm gives me more to think about. Might do a bit of search on all contraceptives and there side effects. I did read somewhere today that depo was not good for long term use, which is pretty much what i want.
Thanks for the replys ladies

Did not work for me. Turned me into a psycho, fat cow.

And I am pretty sure it was the reason for my mc's (almost 3 years down the track)....

I would do much more research and be very very cautious hun.
